A new challenge is awaiting you, a walk begins near Nebi Musa, in the eastern Jerusalem Desert, the history of the shrine dated back to the era of Saladin, and concludes at Mar Saba, the Greek Orthodox desert monastery. Mar Saba is among the most ancient and wondrous desert monasteries in the Holy Land. Women have not been allowed into Mar Saba for 15 centuries, and will have to admire the monastery from afar - over its exterior walls.
Without any shade, the strenuous walk, from near Nebi Musa to Mar Saba, will prove to be challenging, yet rewarding. This hike is not recommended for those who suffer from vertigo, and who are afraid of heights.
