EVERY THURSDAY - Tuqu’ to Arab Ar-Rashaida (Wadi Jhar)

This hike will take you from Tuqu’ through Wadi Jihar to Arab Ar-Rashaida village. Here in Bedouin lands you will see their camels and livestock in pastures. The path descends into the spectacular Wadi el-Jihar, a deep limestone canyon in the desert. The caves there have been used for homes for a long time. The terrain is rocky, with a few small climbs.We emerge from the valley reaching Arab Ar-Rashaida village.

What to bring?

 

  • Lightweight walking boots and modest comfortable clothing

MEETING POINT: In front Bank of Jordan at Bab Zukak Junction in Bethlehem. It is the last bus stop for #231 bus starting from the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The buses are frequent (around each half an hour) and it takes around 45 minutes to arrive to Bethlehem.
